Kohls appears to be unusual in discontinuing its registry service. According to a 2017 survey conducted by The Knot wedding planning website, nearly nine in 10 couples in the U.S. create a registry with an average total value of $4,853 and an average of 125 items. In addition, traditional gift registries remain the most popular with 84 percent of couples choosing to register at their favorite stores with both go-to retailers such as Bed, Bath & Beyond, Target and Amazon, as well as niche e-commerce sites. The survey also found that one in five couples dont register for traditional items, instead selecting electronics such as smart home devices, robotic cleaners and wireless speakers. However, more couples are registering for gifts of money for honeymoons or for charity. The Knot learned that charity registries more than tripled in popularity between 2016 and 2017. Two years ago, one in 10 couples incorporated a charity component. There was a 50 percent increase in cash registries. I just want to let all of you brides-to-be in on the nightmare that was Kohl’s. Some of my packages were never delivered, and customer service told me to call everyone I invited to the wedding and find out if they got me gifts. HOW RUDE! They couldn’t give me any information as to how things were purchased, or who purchased them, and they refuse to send replacements. I addressed the issues on the BBB and they never answered my complaints in full. To this day I am still missing gifts, and I’m sure guests are out of hundreds of dollars. Please feel free to ask me questions, I am MORE than happy to share my experience with them.
