Wedding Casual For Women
A low key wedding is a wonderful opportunity for women to wear their favorite maxi dresses and strappy sundresses. Think florals, brights, pastels, or geometric prints. Dont choose a white maxi, though, or you might be mistaken for the bride.
Dressy casual doesnt mean that you can wear anything, however. Make sure your dress is still an appropriate length a midi dress or maxi dress is a great choice for any age. You dont need a floor length gown, but your dress should still be age appropriate. Its not the club, its a wedding!
Choosing black and dark shades can be tricky. Although a little black dress is versatile, it may not be at home at a casual daytime wedding. Save black dresses for an evening wedding.
Accessories can range from simple and classic to statement earrings and necklaces. Choose the accessories that best compliment your ensemble.
Elegant low- to mid-heeled sandals would be perfect for a summer wedding, but flats would also be at home in a casual wedding, especially an outdoor one. No one wants to wobble in high heels as they walk on the sand or across a lawn.
If a casual daytime wedding will be celebrated into the night, a shawl or wrap with a maxi dress will keep the chill from your shoulders while adding elegance to a casual dress.
What Is Summer Casual Attire For A Wedding
If you want to wear a summer sundress, make sure its not too formal. Casual weddings are best suited to wedge sandals or dressy sandals, but sandals and sneakers are not suitable. If you want to add a tie or sports jacket, you can do so, but it is not necessary to wear dress pants or khaki pants with a collared shirt.
Accent The Outfit With Accessories
Casual wedding attire can be made dressier by adding jewelry with sparkle. Set off a simple black blouse with a bold statement necklace, a few colorful cocktail rings, or a stack of shiny silver bangles. If the wedding will be outside during the day, accessorize with a wide-brimmed hat or a casual straw fedora.

Cruise Ship Wedding Attire For Men
Depending on the formality of the wedding, a cruise ship wedding is the perfect opportunity to bust out a white dinner jacket. The ivory jacket was actually invented for use in tropical climates, where, weve heard, cruise ships tend to sail. But even if youre on one of those Alaskan cruises, a white dinner jacket will stand out at a black tie optional cruise ship wedding. If the dress code is more relaxed, watch the weather and dress accordingly: Lighter suit colors for warm weather, darker suit colors for cool weather.

Integrate Plenty Of Seating
We love the idea of informal seating for a more casual look. Provided you have ample seating for guests so they can be comfortable while eating, why not mix things up a bit and use lounge furnishings as well as tables? suggests Yumiko Fletcher, owner of Hana Floral Design. For this seaside reception, the couple opted for both comfy lounge seating as well as high-top tables and traditional rounds.
Strange Unusual Or Confusing Dress Codes
It’s always tricky dealing with wedding dress codes that you’ve never heard of before, as they’re always up to interpretation – “funky” could mean a paisley-print bellbottom suit, or it could mean a purple tie! Just remember that, no matter the style of wedding, most guests will err on the side of safety, so unless you’re happy to stand out from the crowd, it’s best to stick fairly close to typical wedding dress attire, AKA a suit or a dress and heels. The couple’s own personal style will give you some clues, too. If they’re proudly eccentric dressers, you should be safe adding a little creative flair to your look. If not, stick with the classics.

What Colors Should Guests Not Wear To A Wedding
Unless told otherwise, you should not wear white or any colors close to it, such as cream or beige. It is also advisable to avoid champagne and gold colors as this can be too close to the bride’s wedding dress shade. Some brides prefer if their guests do not wear anything too bright such as red or boldly patterned. You should also avoid all-black.
Wedding Casual For Women:
For daytime, choose a short dress in a floral print or bold color for summer weddings, think sunshine yellow or hot pink azalea in a breathable fabric.
For casual evening wedding, a short dress but in a darker color such as brown, black or navy, or choose a simple cocktail dress.
For outdoor wedding, dressy capri’s or nice pants are easier than a dress to tame in the breeze. For outside, cute flats make walking over the ground easier and you won’t worry about your heels sinking in.
For summer, cute heels on sandals or sling-backs can make your outfit.
For cool or cold weather, choose a sexy closed toed shoe.
Hair should be an understated and a “weatherproof” hairdo that can withstand summer breezes or humidity. Use extra hair pins, clips, style as a messy up do or sleek ponytail.
Research the weather and take a summer sweater or wrap for cooler night time temperatures or air conditioning.
If the wedding is on the beach, be prepared to take off your shoes for easy walking and a great pedicure and polish in a fun summer color is a must!
If you’ll be in the sun, a chic hat and cool shades might make you more comfortable.
TIP: For warm weather, find a cute hand fan you can stick in your clutch or handbag to keep you cool and/or the bugs away.

Can You Wear Jeans To A Casual Wedding
Denim at a wedding used to be a flat no, for wedding guest attire but now the groom and best man might wear jeans with dress shirts and cowboy boots if the wedding has a country or western theme. If members of the wedding party are in jeans, then theyre a safe choice for wedding guests, too.
Now denim and blue jeans at casual weddings are a maybe, depending on the theme or location. Formal wedding attire typically isnt expected at backyard weddings or other lax affairs. If you do decide that blue jeans will fit in on the wedding day, go with a dressier denim design in a darker wash. No ripped jeans!
Dress pants arent always necessary if there isnt a formal wedding dress code in place, so jeans are a maybe. Before you wear jeans or khaki pants, however, consult other guests or even the happy couple about the wedding dress code to ensure they arent too casual.
The rule of never wearing white to a wedding can be bent with white slacks or white denim at a casual wedding. Just make sure that everything else in the outfit is another color a bright or pastel solid or print.
