    Check out American Marriage Ministries

My brother is getting ordained through AMM for our wedding. We are also in NJ, and I spoke with someone from the state department of health who said this site was fine to use, just to have him write it on our marriage license.

Hi Lee! Welcome to the WeddingWire Community! I suggest that you call your local county clerk’s office for any information on becoming an official officiant in the state on New Jersey! As for the Jewish traditions, your friend will most likely need to take some courses at a local synagogue with a Rabbi or Jewish educator! I believe that a Rabbi is the only person who can fully conduct a Jewish wedding ceremony, and a family member or loved one can assist in the ceremony alongside the Rabbi. I highly reccomend calling your local place of worship to inquire about learning the Jewish traditions and the protocol for having someone officiate a Jewish wedding!

However, family law also governs the validity of New Jersey marriages.

One of the specific laws governing the validity of a marriage in New Jersey deals with what groups are permitted to perform a marriage ceremony. This is detailed in N.J.S.A. 37:1-13, and currently permits judges, magistrates, mayors or deputy mayors, county clerks, chairmen of any township committees, and ministers of every religion to conduct a marriage ceremony in New Jersey in order for the marriage to be a valid one. However, as NJ.com reports, another group of people may soon be added to the list of those permitted to perform a marriage ceremony in New Jersey.
