Brunch Wedding Reception Menu

The unique menu possibilities are one of the biggest differentiators with a brunch wedding reception. And while the food selection you serve might be different than an evening menu, it’s important that you still serve a full meal as guests will arrive hungry. Some to-be-weds might assume that a brunch wedding reception means you can get away with serving light bites, but guests will appreciate ample offerings to fill them up. “Make sure you have filling options for food. Just because it’s brunch does not mean people aren’t coming hungry,” says Maddox. “Get creative with your menu!”

In terms of service style, a brunch reception lends itself well to a variety of unique food and drink stations. To start, think of your favorite breakfast foods and brunch foods, and then collaborate with your caterer on what might be doable. For example, French toast bar with all your favorite toppings is another option that’s sure to be a crowd-pleaser. You could even go all-out with a cereal bar that showcases your favorite cereal and milk varieties. Some other yummy options? Waffles, bagels, frittatas, omelets, fresh fruit, doughnuts and croissants are all solid brunch foods.

Feminine Daytime Wedding Attire

For the daytime wedding, think dressy or semi-formal attire. This is the time to wear a nice colorful dress or suit. Wear pumps or dressy flats. If this is for a summer or late spring wedding, you may wear nice sandals but never flip flops, unless it’s an ultra-casual beach wedding. If the wedding is outdoors, don’t forget to bring a shawl, sweater, jacket, or wrap to keep your shoulders warm.

Brunch Wedding Reception Vs Postwedding Brunch

You may be wonderingwhat exactly is a brunch wedding reception? And how does it differ from a postwedding brunch? Oftentimes, traditional wedding receptions take place in the evening. In recent years, couples have started including multiple events in their wedding weekend and will often plan a postwedding brunch the day after the wedding as a final thank you and farewell to guests. However, that’s not the same as a brunch wedding reception, which would take place directly after a morning wedding ceremony on the wedding day. Instead of hosting a wedding ceremony around 5:00 pm with a reception following, some couples may prefer to say “I do” first thing in the morning with a brunch or luncheon to follow.

Essentially, a brunch wedding reception is part of the wedding day, directly following the morning ceremony, while a postwedding brunch is an extra event, in addition to a standard wedding reception, that takes place on a separate day.

Masculine Daytime Wedding Attire

A daytime wedding means you may wear your suit with a bright tie and perhaps a color-coordinated shirt that matches or complements your jacket. If the wedding is less dressy or on the beach, a nice pair of trousers and sport coat are fine, unless the invitation states otherwise. Put your best foot forward, figuratively and literally. Psst, don’t forget the shoes. Make sure you wear dress shoes that are polished and shined.

Your Day Will Start Really Early

Colorful Brunch Wedding Inspiration

Day-of wedding prep is no joke: Hair, makeup, and final touches will take hours, no matter what time you plan to walk down the aisle. If you’re interested in a brunch wedding, consider talking to vendors ahead of time to get an estimate on timing: How long will your hairdresser need to style you and your bridesmaids with different hair textures? Does the makeup artist want everyone’s hair done before starting? Is it possible for the venue to set up everything but the flowers and food the night before? If not, how much timeand manpowerwill it take to kick things off before noon? Depending on the details of your big day, you might be working with a tight schedule that starts before the sun is up.

Basic Dress Code Etiquette For A Bridal Shower

When choosing your outfit for attending a bridal shower, the easiest approach is to follow common sense. Nothing too risqué, nothing to overshadow the bride in any way, nothing too formal, says Abbasi. Go with fun, comfortable, and whatever makes you feel your best self.

Another thing to keep in mind is the color of your outfit. would not recommend wearing white to a bridal shower as traditionally it is called for the bride to wear white , Vorasane says. Same goes for the color black, it is a bit bold. All colors in between are fair game. If the bridal shower has a theme, it can impact your outfit slightly but you dont have to go overboard. A small nod to the partys aesthetic can go a long way.

Your Dcor Should Match The Brunch Wedding Vibe

For those of us who’ve kept a mental wedding inspiration board long before Pinterest existed , it might be tough to rethink color schemes, flower choices, and gold trim on the flatware. But because a brunch wedding is generally more casual, it’s important to consider the ways décor details can reflect that: Instead of billowing floral centerpieces, use wildflowers in mason jars or have your caterer set up a food bar instead of a sit-down meal or traditional buffet. Casual décor options are different but just as endless as formal ones.

Wedding Colors Not Wedding Dress

Maybe the bride wants to get in on the fun of the wedding colors . If so, she should pick a solid tone from her wedding palate. Shes got enough pictures of herself in off-white to last a lifetime. Why not get in on a trendy hue that will complement the loud shirt the groom is wearing and extend an olive branch to the bridesmaid who lobbied against sage. This may be a wedding brunch, but in some sense, this is the bride resuming her life amongst friends and family, only as a married woman.

This Will Impact The Food Choices Perhaps More Than You Think

When you hear the words “brunch wedding” there are a few things that may come to mind . But you might not have thought about this: Brunch may be fun, but brunch food is serious business. And choosing a spread that’s got something for everyone is no easier at brunch than it would be at dinner. Not to mention, it might be a good idea to rethink your cake preferences. While layers and layers of fondant and icing are beautiful and perfect for the evening, most people won’t be interested in that at the end of brunch, especially if they’ve just had three servings of chicken and waffles.

Consider a smaller cake in a lighter or breakfast-styleangel food, coffee cake, and crepe cakes come to mind, along with the ever-popular doughnut offering. If you’re still somewhat traditional in this area, have the baker make a small, one-tier wedding cake to eat on your wedding anniversary.

To A Black Tie Optional Fall Wedding

One way to stand out in the sea of formal gowns and cocktail dresses is to incorporate a dramatic accent like feathers. “Feathers are a fun trend I like to pair with classic Manolo Blahnik heels,” advises designer Pia Arrobio. Though they can be a bold embellishment, we love them on the hem of a timeless little black dressfor example, the way they’re accenting this Alberta Ferretti sheath. This will definitely let your Manolos get some shine. And you can wear your hair down or in an updo as the focal point is all about your curves and legs.

When it comes to weddings, I usually like to stay on the side of making more of an effort rather than less. It feels a little more courteous to the couple, and the extra energy you are putting in goes a long way to show how special and important you acknowledge the day to be, explains fashion stylist Anita Pattrickson. According to Patrickson, short dresses are discouraged, and you should stick with at least a midi-length dress.

Grotts also suggests cocktail attire for a black-tie optional wedding. Cocktail attire works for women, and a dark suit works for men, she says. Grotts further explains that black-tie optional is not always clearly defined, but if you read between the lines, it generally means that the host will be wearing a tux, and they hope that their guests will as well, but it is not a requirement.
