What Stationery Should Be Used

First of all, stationery is the operative word here: No fill-in-the-blank cards, no pre-printed cards, no phone calls, no emails, and no generic post on your website! Personal stationery or store-bought thank-you cards are best. Monogrammed stationery should reflect your current name, so wait to use your married monogram until after the wedding.

Creating a card with a photo from your wedding is a nice idea, but the timing is tricky. Don’t delay writing notes for gifts received before the wedding, and arrange to have the cards made quickly, so that gifts given at the wedding or just after won’t be kept waiting. If you really want to have your photo on the cards, consider using a photo from an engagement shoot or other special occasion instead.

Who To Send A Wedding Thank You To

Use your wedding guest list to make a list of all the wedding thank you notes youll need to write. When a gift comes in just write down what each person gave next to his or her name to neatly keep track. Its also a good idea to note down if anyone went out of their way to help you with the big day that may slip your mind when it comes time to write. Did your high school best friend step in when the wedding coordinator needed help setting up the reception? Youll want to mention this in your note.

  • The folks that gave you an engagement, shower, or wedding gift. Yes, even if you already gave them your heartfelt thank you in person they should still get a thank you note.
  • They came, they saw, and you got wed. Your friends and family went out of their way to spend your special day with them, dont forget to thank them.
  • Anyone who hosted a party or shower for you. Hosting is a huge responsibility consider gifting a little something along with the thank you note.
  • Anyone who helped you through your wedding process. That co-worker who helped you put together the goodie bags for the bridal shower deserves a thank you note.
  • Vendors.
  • Your parents.
  • Bridal Party. Your maid of honor kept her cool when you were about to loose yours. Thank her for that.

Who Gets Wedding Thank

You might wonder if every guest needs a wedding thank-you card. Once again, the answer is yes. Everyone who attends your big day deserves a thank-you card, even if they don’t give a wedding gift. Keep in mind that buying a wedding present is highly encouraged, but it’s not mandatory. While most loved ones will give you something, whether it’s a registry item, a monetary gift, a honeymoon fund donation or something else, some might not. Guests technically have up to a year after your wedding day to give a gift, so your present might arrive later than expected. Regardless of the gift status, though, every guest should receive a thank-you card.

Why Wedding Thank

Wedding Thank You Card Wording Ideas to Inspire You ...

While weddings themselves might not be the traditional affairs they once were, wedding thank-you notes are timelessly thoughtful, classy, and just as meaningful as ever. At a bare minimum, a wedding thank you acknowledges that you received a gift or kindness, and reflects the time and thought that went into giving it with some corresponding effort of its own. That all by itself is important.

But at their best, wedding thank-you notes can remind a friend or loved one how much they mean to you and thank them, not only for adding to your big day, but for being part of your life. And thats more than importantits essential. Its taking good care of the people who mean the most.

Where Do We Write

Find a comfortable space where you can feel organised and in-tune with the task at hand. Organisation includes a list hopefully made by your wedding party of what everyone gave you. Its good to be able to write to each person, Thank you for the¦.. Name the gift¦.. you gave us. For monetary gifts, you dont need to mention the financial amount but reference what you plan to do with the money will work well.

WHEN do we write the cards?

Within 2-3 months of your wedding is a great timeframe to work to. There are those super-organised people who even do the thank yous before the wedding day. If you are not one of those people after the honeymoon, catch your breath and get busy.
