How To Decorate Wedding Chairs

Love itself is something worthy of celebration, which is why, when it comes to weddings, people spend extra time and care in deciding every detail. The objective is to make the day absolutely perfect, but one arguably important item is often overlookedseating.

No matter the event, its important to have a place for your guests to sit, and a wedding is no exception. But if youre creative, your seating can be more. It can become a part of the theme and décor.

Here are a few ideas for creative ways to decorate chairs for weddings.

Garland On Stone Tiles

This historic church is stunning as is. Heflin Cordero advises brides to keep the natural state of the venue or location in mind, “I love making statements with an aisle, but I want to make sure it ‘fits’,” she explains. “Does it accentuate the ceremony location or take away from its natural beauty?” In this case, a light touch of garland with spaced-out white flowers and scattered petals is all the space needs.

So Should You Rent Or Buy

You may have noticed that it costs about the same to rent a chair cover as it does to buy a chair cover. What the heck?

The chair covers available to the general public to buy on Amazon or Alibaba or what-have-you aren’t the same as rental chair covers. Since rentals have to last, they’re made from thicker, sturdier fabric. Since you’re probably only gonna use them once, who cares? Well, the better fabric will drape better, and it won’t be see-through. The last thing you wanna see is the ugly chair, right?

A rental company will also be able to deliver the chair covers straight to the venue and will have staff available to set up the covers and tie sashes. This will cost extra of course, but unless you have a crew of buddies willing to do this, paid setup may be your only option.

Whether renting or purchasing, find out how the chair covers will arriveon hangers, folded, in plastic wrap? Nothing looks worse than a wrinkly chair cover, so if the company is sending them in shrink wrap, you’re probably going to need a portable steamer to de-wrinkle them on-site.

White wooden or resin folding chairs like these typically rent for around $25 per.

Note

I do not recommend trying to sew your own chair covers. It’s ridiculously time-consuming and takes way more fabric than you’d think.
