Will This Venue Fit My Florals Decor Rentals Budget
This might be the least obvious of questions, but it is important to consider not just what you have budgeted for a venue, but also what you have budgeted for flowers, decorations, rentals, etc. Some venues require more dressing up than others, which would consequently eat in to other parts of your budget. So as you choose a venue, consider what you would need to do and what it would cost to make the space what you want it to be.
Bonus: Do I Like The Venue And Surrounding Area For Photos
Around your venue is the most likely space you will be photographed in throughout your wedding day. Of course, ceremony, toasts, and dances will all be photographed in the space. But do you like it for portraits? Are there spaces and backdrops that you feel inspired by? If not, are there places close by that you can drive to?Also, will there be a lot of people about in the space you are trying to take photos within? Ultimately, dont fret too much about this, as your photographer will guide you in to finding the best pockets in a space for photographs. And they might often not be what you are thinking. In the end, collaboration is best on these things!

The Wadsworth Homestead Wedding Venue Geneso Ny
The Wadsworth Homestead is located in Geneso, just half an hour south of Rochester. Its an elegant country manor estate, owned by the same family since it was built in 1804! Its even listed on the National Register of Historic Places, and the stunning grounds make it one of the best wedding venues in Rochester.
The home overlooks the Genesee River Valley, and around the manor, there are pastures filled with towering oak trees, flowery meadows, and even grazing horses! The home includes rooms for you to get ready and bedrooms that you can stay in after the wedding, along with cozy touches like the fireplaces, grand staircase, and the library.

The Wintergarden By Monroes
Next up is a venue I absolutely LOVE!!!!!! I went back and forth trying to decide if I wanted this venue to be #1 or #2 on my list, but I ended up deciding second place was still very high!!! The Wintergarden by Monroesis located in Downtown Rochester and is literally a photographers dream come true. The stunning all-glass atrium brings in all the natural light . Its the feeling of being in a greenhouse, but a damn fancy/high-end greenhouse where you get all dressed up and party hard!!!! Theres even trees growing inside the space giving you a great indoor/outdoor feel.
Can you tell Im a huge fan of the Wintergarden?! Not to mention how amazing it looks with uplighting after the sunsets. I highly recommend upgrading with your DJ to include uplighting for this venue. I dont say this for every venue, but it will be well worth the extra cash and completely transform the space at night time. One of my favorite vendors was the man behind the magic for this wedding and did an incredible job transforming this space once the sun went down.
The Ballroom At Carey Lake Wedding Venue
With 200 acres and an incredible view of the lake, the Ballroom at Carey Lake is one of the best wedding venues in Rochester for couples who want to get married outdoors, with stunning natural scenery!
You can get ready in a cozy suite, designed to be the perfect space for hair and makeup or for mimosas with the wedding party before the main event.
Ceremonies usually take place outdoors, at the gorgeous courtyard that overlooks Carey Lake but in case of rain, you can have your ceremony in the ballroom instead! There are three options for ballrooms where you can host your reception. The Grand Ballroom is the biggest, holding up to 450 people, and the North Ballroom is the smallest, with a capacity of 125. The South Ballroom can accommodate up to 205 guests, but if you dont need a dance floor, each ballroom can host even more poeple! Each one has a bar, an outdoor porch, and a courtyard with views of the lake.

St Joseph’s Park Is The Perfect Location For Your Special Occasion
One of Rochesters best-kept secrets is available for the community to enjoy again, after being closed for many years. In a partnership with Bella Events, The Landmark Society is renting out this beautiful urban park for photo shoots, weddings and other celebrations.
The Redemptorist Fathers, along with the German Immigrants of the early 1800s, purchased the site and spent over three years building the main body of the church. The church soon became the mother church of nine other German parishes in western New York. The quiet old building over the decades literally became known as the Oasis of Grace. The bell tower was constructed in 1909.
Featuring dramatic iron fences, gates and stone arches, St. Josephs Park is located inside the remains of what was the citys oldest Catholic church, destroyed in 1975 by a disastrous fire.
In the years following the fire, determined citizens and institutions felt that the distinctive tower was an irreplaceable feature of the Rochester landscape and thus created St. Josephs Park. With its enclosed courtyard and fountain, The Landmark Society-owned park opened in 1980 with renovation designed by Handler/Grosso Architects and was enjoyed by many in the area.
