Well, simply telling the date of the wedding is not enough. You must specify the time of the ceremony. This will also need to be written in the correct format. Keep reading to understand how you should write the time:

  • Like the date, you also need to write the time in spelling. As an example, if the wedding is at 4:30 PM, you will require writing as: at half after four in the afternoon. The time should be written after the dare, followed by a comma with the at.
  • If the time consist of hour only without any minutes, you can simply write four oclock. If there are minutes like 30 minutes, you can write half after. And, dont forget to put the oclock.
  • You dont write am/pm while spelling out the time. Instead, you need to write at the morning, at the evening, at the noon, at the afternoon, etc.
  • If the wedding is going to happen before 12:00pm, you will write in the morning. If it is something close after to 12:00pm, it will be noon. For events after 5.00pm, it will be evening.
  • If you dont care much about the formality, you can also write this way: four-thirty. Moreover, if the wedding is not going to be formal, you can also write the date and time in numeric form. In such a case, you can write like this:

    How To Write The Location

    Another important detail of the wedding that needs to be written correctly is the location. Doing a small mistake about the location might make it hard for the guest to find it. Thats why the location also requires special care. Here is the correct and formal way of writing the location in the wedding invitation:

  • If you are wedding in a popular place or in the church, you can simply mention the name of the place.
  • At first, write then name of the venue and then write the city and state. Make sure that you are writing the full form of the state instead of putting abbreviation.
  • If your wedding is in a private venue, then make sure to put the street address. People might find it hard to find without this. However, it is not necessary for popular venue or church.
  • You will not usually include the zip code in the wedding invitation. However, if you think it is necessary, then you can add it.

    Would you believe us if we told you that save the dates were one of the more contemporary pieces of wedding stationery we made? Go ahead: ask your parents. Thereâs a real chance that they didnât send wedding save-the-dates and didnât have friends that used them, either. When they were getting married, there werenât many uses of invitation to follow. Couples just sent wedding invitations. While you might find earlier ones, they are mostly a 21st century phenomenon: the era of destination weddings and of generational migration away from hometown weddings. Accordingly, we are all learning the whyâs and howâs of them together. We think they are a courteous gesture and a brilliant way to start your ceremony planning with a bit of personal style.

    Dates Times Punctuation And Address Style

    There are so many ways to write the details of your event. It comes down to a matter of style and tradition. Above all, the most important thing is to make sure that these details, such as dates and times, are communicated simply and clearly.

    The most traditional, formal style is to put the date of the month before the month. Ex: the fourth of May rather than May fourth. For the most formal invitations, you could say the fourth day of May.

    The year is spelled out. We think it is best to include the and in the year. Ex: two thousand and fifteen. For the most formal invitations, you could say in the year two thousand and fifteen.

    Some people prefer to capitalize the year of their event. Others stick to the traditional format that only proper nouns are capitalized. If you want to avoid debating capitalization altogether, we recommend using a font with all capital letters.

    We recommend spelling out the names of states in invitations of any level of formality. There is also no reason to abbreviate parts of street addresses in most invitations, even if they are casual.

    You do not have to include a street address or even a city and state if the location of the event will be obvious to your guests just by its name.

    Prepositions: You can leave out the on before the date and the at before the location if you like. It does make the invitation seem more streamlined.
