Increase Lemon Infusion Intake
Using lemon is more effective if you accidentally get your period a bit early during your vacation or just a few days before your journey.
Lemon also boasts an acidic nature, which benefits in pushing back your menstrual cycle for some time. The acidic content detoxifies the body, shedding the uterine line quickly. This would temporarily cut off the period if you drink it during the cycle.
You can either mix lemon with vinegar and water and drink a combination of these foods. Or simply opt for a lemon water infusion.
How To Deal With Your Period On Your Wedding Day
There are several ways to make dealing with having your period on your wedding day more bearable.
Have all the Right Supplies
Make sure that you have all the right supplies on hand. From tampons to pads and panty liners, you dont want to be caught without them in this case. You may also want to consider wearing underwear specifically designed to wear during your period in order to mitigate the risk of leaks. Also have a pain reliever on hand to relieve cramps and headaches.
Your period can definitely cause the discomfort of bloating, which is not what any bride wants on their wedding day. To minimize the chances of this, avoid salty foods that lead to the retention of water. Start avoiding them at least a week before your wedding day. Youll also want to reduce your caffeine intake, as too much of it can irritate the stomach, making period symptoms worse. Also avoid artificial sweeteners, alcohol, carbonated drinks, and refined sugars leading up to your wedding day to reduce bloating.
Drink Plenty of Water
To help yourself feel your best , drink plenty of water in the days leading up to your wedding and on the day-of. This will reduce bloating and help you feel more energized. If you can, hit the gym in the days leading up to your wedding to help you feel your best, too.
Ask for Help
While this is one of the not-so-fun parts of womanhood, its sometimes unavoidablebut definitely nothing worth your wedding day being ruined over.

Is There Anything Bad About Using Birth Control Pills To Skip My Period
There is nothing bad or harmful about using birth control pills to delay or skip your period, though it’s a good idea to talk to your doctor. And for those who are looking to skip multiple periods, there are different options for you.*
*Note: If you’re not taking birth control pills and are missing periods, you should consider asking your doctor about it. The Mayo Clinic recommends seeing your doctor if you’ve missed 3 menstrual periods in a row.
Skipping or delaying your period is not harmful. Some doctors even see skipping periods as beneficial, allowing women to avoid pain or the potential cost of a period. Other research has shown skipping multiple periods using birth control can actually limit your likelihood to develop certain cancers like ovarian cancer.
Given all this information, we hope you feel confident about choosing the best way for you to delay or skip your period.
Ways To Delay A Menstrual Period
The modern woman gets to choose if and when she menstruates, thanks to medicine’s understanding of the human hormonal systems. This means that should you have an important event like a wedding or vacation, you can use hormones to delay your menstrual cycle. This process, called menstrual manipulation, is perfectly safe, according to the Mayo Clinic. Menstrual manipulation also helps prevent symptoms for women who have menstrual disorders, like painful periods or endometriosis. Each woman’s body reacts differently, so you may still experience spotting or PMS-like symptoms.

What To Say If You Eloped
When youre engaged, the anticipation is half the battle of wedding planning. You cant wait to become spouses, and when a pandemic threatens to delay the big day even longer, some couples, wellsimply cant wait. If you and your partner have decided to elope rather than having a wedding, Jen Avey, the vice president of Destination Weddings Travel Group, suggests getting the message out to guests ASAP. She also encourages twosomes to consider having a first-anniversary party in 2021 or later, so your loved ones have a date to look forward to in the future. Here, Aveys template suggestion:
Dear family and friends,
We hope this finds you well and staying healthy during these uncertain times. We are writing to let you know weve had a change of plans for our original wedding celebration due to COVID-19. We decided to elope!
While we wish we could celebrate this special day with all of our friends and family, we just couldnt wait to say I do and make it official! But dont worry, there will be a larger party next summer to celebrate our first anniversary together, so be sure to look out for those details in the coming months.
We much appreciate your continued love and support, and while we feel it was the right decision, we hope you understand it wasnt easy to make.
Do Specific Foods Work To Delay Your Period
You may have heard certain foods can delay your period. Some websites point to things like lemons because of vitamin C, or bananas because of potassium, or some spicy food. Although some of these ingredients are good or can benefit a balanced diet, it does not affect your period timing.
The American Journal of Clinical Nutritionhas shown that while diet can be relevant to a woman’s period, there is no research on lemons, bananas, spicy food, or any other food as a way to delay a period.

Have Any Of You Missed Periods Due To Stress
Posted in Community Conversations0
I haven’t had a period in 3 months. I’m not pregnant, I’ve taken 2 tests, so I’m not really even worried about that. I know its definitely possible for stress to make you miss periods, but its NEVER happened to me. And I don’t really FEEL that stressed at the moment.. Just overloaded with wedding stuff, but it could definitely be worse. Part of me thinks I should go to the doctor, but part of me feels like he’s just going to tell me its stress and send me home.
Has this happened to any of you? I don’t really MIND it, just want a reason. And as long as I know I’m not pregnant, I’m good! lol

Can Wedding Stress Affect Your Period
Don’t freak out! This is surprisingly normal.
As if your surmounting wedding-day to-do list isn’t enough to keep you occupiednot to mention overwhelmed and at least a little stressed outnow you’re noticing some odd changes with the one thing you’re hoping to see arrive every month on time: your period. If you’ve started to notice that Aunt Flo is coming or going sooner or later than normal, or perhaps not coming at all, it’s understandable that you’d be concerned. First and foremost: Don’t freak out. Any type of stress can affect your periodand wedding stress is no exception. “Even small, daily stressors can increase the amount of adrenaline and cortisol in your body,” explains Rebecca Levy-Gantt, M.D., OB/GYN at Premier ObGyn Napa Inc. “When these hormones are produced in higher-than-normal amounts, they can disrupt the hormones that create the regular menstrual cycle, causing prolonged bleeding, skipping of periods, or unusually heavy or irregular bleeding around these stressful times.”
The most common way wedding stress can affect your period is by skipping periods. “If your brain isn’t releasing the hormones necessary to regulate your cycle, then your ovaries won’t get the message either!” says Briana Livingston, M.D., OB/GYN at MemorialCare Medical Group in Long Beach, California. Naturally, this can create even more stress that worsen the problem. “When you skip your period for multiple months this is called amenorrhea,” she explains.
How Much Does The Period Delay Pill Cost
If you want to delay your period for 10 days, for example, youll need to buy a pack of 30 tablets which costs £29 plus the £9 NHS prescription charge at Superdrug. A 20-day pack costs £45 and a 30-day packet costs £59.
At Boots, 10 days supply costs £18 and 20 days supply costs £27, plus the NHS prescription charge and any extra for delivery.
Taking 2 Packets Of The Combined Pill Back
If you take a combined contraceptive pill, you can delay your period by taking 2 packets back-to-back.
How you do this will depend on which pill you take.
- monophasic 21-day pills, such as Microgynon and Cilest you take a combined pill for 21 days, followed by 7 days without pills, when you have a bleed . To delay your period, start a new packet of pills straight after you finish the last pill and miss out the 7-day break.
- everyday pills, such as Microgynon ED and Lorynon ED you take a combined pill every day. The first 21 pills are active pills and the next 7 pills are inactive or dummy pills, when you have your period. To delay your period, miss out and throw away the dummy pills, and start the active pills in a new packet straight away.
- phasic 21-day pills, such as Binovium, Qlaira and Logynon the mix of hormones in each pill is different, depending on which phase you’re in. You need to take these pills in the correct order to have effective contraception. Ask your pharmacist, community contraception clinic or GP for more information.
Taking your contraceptive pills in the ways described above will not affect how they work as contraceptives.
If you’re not sure which pill you’re on or which pills in the packet to miss out, speak to your pharmacist, community contraception clinic or GP.
Avoid taking more than 2 packs without a break, unless your GP says you can.
There’s a risk you could experience side effects, such as:
- feeling sick
Reasons For Postponing Period
While you may have personal reasons for delaying your period, there are some other general reasons to stop your monthly menstruation for a few days, hours or even a week.
- Any conditions that are made worse by menstruation such as epilepsy, migraines, asthma, anemia and even endometriosis.
- Any mental or physical disability which makes it hard to use tampons or sanitary towels.
- To prevent mood swings, bloating, breast tenderness, headaches or other condition that accompanies the period.
- When one experiences painful, frequent, prolonged or heavy periods.
Before using any of these methods, you should know how you personally respond to them. The advice of a medical doctor is always a valuable ingredient when altering any part of your bodily processes.
Also, living a healthy lifestyle will make it easier and less painful when using any of the methods detailed here. You can achieve that with regular exercise and a healthy diet that is balanced. Also, avoid using any method all the time and allow your body to have periods every now and again.
Norethisterone And Delaying Your Period
Posted in Fitness and Health0
So, I get absolutely horrible menstrual cramps that often have me bedridden. Honestly my worst wedding day fear is that Im going to be in so much pain that I wont be able to enjoy it. I recently read an article about noresthisterone, that it can be used to delay your period for up to 2 weeks?Has anyone tried this, did it work, did it have any negative side effects? Im worried about it not working making me feel crappy in a different way screwing up my cycle and giving me worse cramps in the future affecting my fertility . As far as what Ive read on the internet, it seems to not affect any of these things but it also seems too good to be true?Ill of course talk to my doctor about it but I just wanted to see if anyone had any experiences with this before I bother making an appointment!

What To Say If You’re Postponing Your Wedding
Rather than canceling your wedding completely, youve spoken with your vendors and selected a new date in the future. If youve gone this route, you need to communicate your wishes quickly.
As Mariam Naficy, the CEO and founder of Minted shares, first and foremost, confirm with your immediate family members and wedding party. If you can, give them a ring, and then communicate the message with your guests via email. Keep the wording brief and to the point, she recommends. You can also choose a card design that matches the look and feel of your original invitation to keep all of your wedding stationery coordinated and cohesive, Naficy adds. See a suggested template below.
