• Be timely with your thank you notes: you dont have to fire off your notes right away, but most people expect a reply within 2-3 months. Also, if you receive gifts before the wedding that its more than acceptable to write thank you notes before the wedding, particularly if it helps just get it done
• Write notes to everyone : Listen, its not uncommon to have a guest attend but not bring a gift. Sometimes people truly cant afford to attend the wedding and bring a present, and sometimes they just forget. You dont have to follow my instructions, but Id argue that if youre writing notes at all, write them to everyone. Because that friend who dropped a grand they didnt exactly have to come to your wedding should be thanked, even if they didnt also get you a coffee machine.

It’s not often you hire a professional photographer, so how about sharing your wedding photos somewhere other than Insta?! There are lots of options, whether you want to share a heap of photos or just one. I personally love when couples share their group shots in their thank you cards!

Thank you cards come in all shapes and sizes, so just pick the one that resonates with you. All our stationery is NZ made, even our envelopes.

Postcard style thank you cards

The postcard style is a flat card measuring 105x148mm. This can be printed on both sides. Perhaps pop a photo on the front and then a preprinted âthanksâ on the reverse? Cute with a magnet for someoneâs fridge and not too much room if you donât feel like writing a long thank you message!

Greeting card style thank you notes

A folded card, measuring 210x148mm when unfolded. We can design these to sit tall with the fold at the lefthand side, or long with the crease at the top. Itâs usually whatever will suit your favourite wedding photo! Either way, these should sit on a bookcase or mantlepiece quite nicely.

Concertina style thank you cards

Specify The Amount For Monetary Gifts

“When thanking people for the gift of money, its important for you to put the exact amount that they gave you,” says Swann, debunking myths that you shouldn’t specify the amount you received. The reason for this is twofold, she says. “You’re letting them know you received the money and you’re verifying how much you received.” This is especially helpful if the money was transferred digitally or sent via post to give senders peace of mind.

With an open-ended gift like this, its a nice touch to mention your general plans for it, but not absolutely necessary. Rather than stating the specific amount of money given, you can just refer to the generous gift or gift card.

For group gifts, send an individual card to each person who contributed to the gift. However, if you’re not sure of who contributed to the gift, Swann says it’s acceptable to only thank the person who personally handed or sent the item to you.
