If you are reserving hotel room blocks for out of town guests, it is recommended to share this information on an accommodation details card. This card is especially essential if you have a lot of out of town guests who may not be web-savvy enough to find room block details on your wedding website.
What to Include: Along with the name of the hotel and street address, inform guests of the name or group code your room blocks are listed under along with the date to reserve by. You may also wish to include the hotel’s phone number. If a shuttle is provided from the hotel to your venue, you may also add it here.
What Not to Include: You do not need to list the hotel website’s booking pagethese are often long and can look confusing. It’s best to include this on your wedding website. Don’t include too much informationsuch as the temperature, recommended airports, or other minor details guests can find on their own.
Ways to Save: Omit the added cost of including a website card by briefly including your wedding website at the bottom of this card.
Reception Insert
If your wedding and reception are held at different venues or if there is a long break between both events, this insert may be necessary to share all of the extra details with guests.
What Not to Include: If you have any other wedding festivities, such as a post-wedding brunch, do not list it on this card. It can appear confusing to guests if too many events are listed on one small insert card.

Choosing Your Wedding Invitation Style
The wording and design, from typeface to the color, weight, and even texture of the paper, all subtly shape how your wedding will be perceived. If you’re planning a casual beach wedding, for example, then that should be conveyed from the start in the design of the invitation. On the other hand, if you picture your wedding guests in tuxedos and floor-length gowns, then the invitation should be equally formal in tone and style. Here are more style options to consider when creating your wedding invitations.
What Time Should I Put On The Invite
My ceremony starts at 2:00pm but I would like guests there at 1:30pm to be ready and seated for the 2:00pm start
Whatever time you put on your invite, bear in mind that most guests will know to turn up earlier and not 1 minute before the start time! Some guests could start to arrive up to 45 minutes before the start time on the invite. So, if you have put 1:30pm on an invite, then be prepared for guests to start arriving from 12:45pm onwards. If your service doesnt actually start until 2:00pm then some of your guests may have been waiting well in excess of an hour for the ceremony to start. This might be ok if the venue has refreshments, heating and WC facilities, but if your ceremony is in a more remote location such as on the beach, on a cliff, or in the woods, or if you are using an older building such as a church or a chapel where facilities might be limited, this could be an issue for guests, especially those with children or the elderly.
Most couples put the actual ceremony start time on the invite with the assumption that the vast majority of guests will know to arrive and be seated before it starts, but if you are still concerned you can simply put:
Ceremony at 2:00pm Please arrive by 1:30pm

Address Travel Restrictions And Changes During Covid
International and interstate travel continue to prove challenging during COVID, and while that may change over time, its important to let guests know how to get in touch with you if their travel plans have to change unexpectedly and they can no longer attend your wedding.
Would you like them to get in touch via text, email or phone call? If so, can you request a family member or close friend manage last-minute RSVP changes so you dont have to field them during the final weeks and days leading up to your wedding?
Most couples manage RSVP themselves up to the caterers due date, which is usually 2-3 weeks prior to the wedding, says Darcy. With COVID, last-minute cancellations might come in after that due date if travel restrictions change unexpectedly. So, I usually recommend that those last-minute cancellations go through a family member who can communicate with the caterer. Im all for making things as seamless as possible in those final days before the wedding, and last-minute cancellations, even if unavoidable because of COVID, can be really stressful for couples.

What To Include In A Map & Directions Card
For a directions card, include the complete address of the venue or location, then write out the step-by-step driving directions for your guest to follow. Make sure that no matter which direction your guests are traveling, they will be able to make it on time. You may choose to include two sets of directions for guests coming from the east and guests driving from the west, for example.
If you choose to include a paper map, it is a great way to inform your guests of the surrounding neighborhood, especially helpful for your out-of-town family and friends. You may want to include great restaurants, hotels to stay at, shopping centers, or any other places that interest you.
When To Order Reception Cards:
Again, it’s best to order the reception cards with your invitations.
Not only can wedding programs provide useful information, but they also make charming mementos. Programs are often in the form of a small booklet and include information about the ceremony, such as the date, the names of the wedding party , the order of events and the titles of readings and songs. Everyone understands that party planning has gotten more complicated, making it completely fair to give tighter deadlines for RSVPs. That being said, its also important to give your guests the opportunity to respond quickly and last minute if needed. Providing them with your phone number or email address will ease their mind in case they need to get a hold of you prior to the event. Not everyone will be comfortable attending gatherings, especially people high at risk from the virus. Be sure to keep in mind that your guest numbers might be lower than normally estimated.

If your ceremony or reception is at a location that many of your guests wont be familiar with, then it would be advisable to include the address and postcode so guests can use satnavs or smartphones to find it on the day. Directions Or Map Insert
If your wedding venue is hard to find or GPS directions might not send guests the best route, consider including a directions insert. A hand-drawn map is a fun option if you want to highlight several locations relevant to your wedding and it also makes a sweet keepsake.
Since youll have guests traveling from different locations, its best to offer directions from a common starting point. For example, a local airport or highway interchange, or the hotel most guests will be staying at. Another option is to include directions from the ceremony location to the reception location.
