What Is A Wedding Website
A wedding website is a personalized space for you to share all the details of your upcoming nuptials! The concept of wedding websites has been around for a long time, but now more than ever before, were seeing couples create their own websites to share and collect information from guests that simply cant be communicated or fit onto traditional wedding invitations.

Import your guest list and manage multiple events, both public and private can be managed via RSVPs online.
The Premium features include being able to personalize your site with a custom URL, get password protection, display photo galleries, and more
Cons: The Minted interface is a bit slow which can get a little painful and after the first year of the premium service, your custom URL can be renewed for a fee. But apart from that I’m having trouble finding things to complain about – seems to be a great service!

There are quite a few wedding website options available but we decided on ewedding.com. Before deciding, we researched roughly ten websites in-depth and then built four different free trials. If youre from the states and remember the MySpace era, its similar to that. You can add your own music, pictures, backgrounds, etc. And if youre familiar with HTML, you can opt to add sections of HTML to your site which is a nice touch without being too overwhelming. We also like that we can customize the URL. There are other items that we havent yet taken advantage of but for a small fee each month the things we have taken advantage of we feel like it has already been well worth the cost. The Customer Service team is great. They go the extra step. Rather than simply answering the question, the team will usually give you a little extra explanation, be that steps to try or why things work the way they do or various options for reaching your goal.Im always a little weary of reviews that are fully in the positive. Something to be aware of is that if you are a customer in the U.S. and use a credit card that charges international fees, do know that the company is not based in the states and you may incur a small extra fee. Keep this in perspective, its typically less than a dollar which still makes the cost of the site a great deal! Overall, were very happy. We would recommend ewedding to others.

Why Do I Need A Wedding Website Whats The Point
The most common reason why couples choose to create a wedding website is to help their guests find all the information they need to know in preparation for the big day but also to make it easy for both them and their guests to send in their RSVPs.
Traditionally, guests would receive an RSVP card in the mail that they would then need to fill out and send back by post. Today, couples are opting for online RSVPs to save themselves the extra postage costs, but also to save them the time it takes waiting for those cards to be sent back.
And when you think about ALL the information that needs to be communicated to guests, from directions to the venue, whether youve registered for gifts, to room blocks and dress codes, its no wonder that couples are jumping online to create a wedding website!
You can save yourself a lot of time by directing your friends and family to a website rather than making lengthy phone calls each and every person. I know you love them, but seriously, you have a full-time job and a wedding to plan. Aint nobody got time for that!
Depending on which platform you choose to build your wedding website on, couples can also get access to additional perks like digital save the date cards, guest list managers, and other wedding planning tools.
Dont Put The Emphasis On Gift Registries
It is fine to post links to various on-line gift registries on your home page this is one of the conveniences of having a wedding website. It is important to strike a balance between discretion and a desire to make things easier for your guests. Place such links to the side of the page in modestly sized type, and make sure they are the only item of information guests will find when they visit your page. Add a message of thanks: “Here are our registries. Thank you for thinking of us!”

Comparing And Contrasting The Price Of Wedding Planner With Price Of Website
While personal wedding websites are mostly to give the guests information on the wedding such as the date, time and location, the websites can also include things such as blogs and planning bibliographies in which viewers of the wedding website can interact with the bride. Weddings brought to life from personal wedding websites may lack in creativity and originality as many of them suggest traditional weddings and encourage brides to look at celebrity weddings for inspiration. Most brides see personal wedding website, particularly free ones, as a more cost-efficient way of planning and informing friends and family about their wedding, however, some of these websites promote expensive wedding products and ideas as opposed to less expensive and more realistic items. With free or fee-based websites, the user receives their own domain name for the website. It is also important to note that wedding planners are to help the bride while the wedding website caters more to the guests. Most wedding websites are used for both planning purposes and personal pages.
Include Detailed Travel Information
Whether your celebration is local or youre having a far-flung destination wedding, there will be guests coming in from out of town, so its a good idea to give them the 4-1-1 on travel and accommodations. Include information about the nearest airport or the best way to get to town, as well as the websites, phone numbers, and booking codes for any local hotels where you have a room block. Dont forget any discounts youve secured for airport shuttles or rental cars.

Criticism Of Wedding Websites
Criticism of wedding websites includes the process of sending out invitations via email rather than by mail. In a recent survey, 37% of voters said that evites should “never” be sent out, while 49% said it “depended on the wedding,” and 14% said “anytime.” Most wedding planning books suggest to the brides ways to find cheaper wedding invitations and typically do not suggest evites. However, evites are a money-saving and environmentally friendly way of sending invitations. Money is not spent on the actual paper and postage and paper is not used.
Website etiquette can become complicated when it comes to what information can be put on the personal site. Putting a gift registry on the website is looked down upon by some experts. Couples can put the registry on the websites but let the guests find it themselves. Couples are not to put events that not all guests are invited to on the website, such as the engagement party or wedding shower.
