- Most barns are older and likely arent heated or cooled, and for that reason, most barn wedding venues are only open April November or May October
- Barns are typically made with wood, and wood is dark. Therefore, extra lighting may be necessary, and you can expect slightly dark wedding photos
- Because barns are naturally lovely spaces, you always have a backup should the weather outside not pan out
- Barns are typically full of history, so make sure to get approval whenever trying to attach something, be that thumbtacks or floral installations

Andrew is one of those guys that is super serious yet down for a good time. He greeted me on the morning of the wedding with a big smile ready to see his girl. Gabrielle has got to be one of the most stunning people both inside and out, she has the cutest little giggle which came out in little nervous bursts all morning. In a rare turn of events the morning of Gabrielle and Andrews morning could not have gone more smooth, take note staying on schedule wards off the madness.
The big tough guys are always the ones that cry. When Gabby came through the doors of the Church in an absolute burst of light Andrew lost it. Its difficult to keep my vision clear when feelings are welling up in my eye balls, grateful for facial tracking because it was truly a highlight moment. Wedding day morning melt away into a party after my couple gets to finally see each other and that was true of Gabby and Andrew. They both just wanted to party and celebrate .

Where To Find Your Type Of Venue
Each side of the river has its own vibe, with the east side a bit more refined and the west side a bit more rustic and less populated. The west side is a bit less expensive. If you are looking for a rustic farm, barn, vineyard or industrial type of wedding in the Hudson Valley, you’ll find the majority of the venues on the west side in Ulster County with Orange, Greene and Dutchess as close seconds. If you are looking for a castle, historic manor or estate wedding, Westchester on the east might be a good bet.
Desirable features of the Hudson Valley include river views, mountain views and lake views. If you’re looking for a beach wedding, this is not the place. There are a few banquet halls up here, mostly on the east side of the river, but not many on the west. This is more the area for unique, historic or farm-type venues.
