You know, we went from a 200 person wedding down to 70 people, and it may have been the biggest blessing. I really hope if anything should come out positive from COVID, its that we re-look at how crazy we go with these weddings. Mayfair Farms, the elegant banquet hall in West Orange that hosted U.S. presidents and catered thousands of weddings, proms, and luncheons, has closed after 80 years.
The family-run business, started by Martin L. Horn in 1942, shut down on June 30, leaving a trail of memories, and no doubt, a few tears among the generations of brides, grooms, prom queens and kings that had their special day at Mayfair Farms.

The Family Business Of Mayfair Farms
Mayfair Farms was formerly known as The Mayfair Club. The property, located at 481 Eagle Rock Avenue, West Orange, was purchased in 1942 by local businessman Martin L. Horn Sr. After much renovation, the property was transformed into a gracious home which was used as a private luncheon club. It then evolved into a restaurant and catering facility known as Mayfair Farms. In 1943, Martin was awarded the first President of the New Jersey Restaurant Association for his faithful service.
To date, four generations of the Horn family have taken over business and have since continued to offer a firm commitment to the family police of serving the highest quality foods in a timeless and elegant atmosphere.

Kat and Davids Wedding West Orange NJ was beautiful, fun, and an all-around great day! Considering the restrictions that we are facing in the wedding industry with being able to hold large gatherings of more than 100 people, Kat and Davids wedding was the closest you could get to what weddings used to before COVID-19.
I met Kat and David back at the end of 2019 when I ran a free-engagement session contest. We shot their engagement session in Allentown NJ at the Barn. I knew that these two were special. I wanted to capture their love beyond just their engagement session and I am so glad that I did. Wedding West Orange NJ
Have you ever had that feeling of meeting someone and feel like you have known them your entire life?! Well, that is exactly how I felt with Kat and David.
At one point Kat said that it felt like friends were photographing my wedding, not just another vendor. Which made me so happy!
Kats dress was absolutely stunning, so much so I was afraid to carry it outside to get some images of it. Her details were stunning and I even found a cool way of shooting some pre-shots of the bride. I asked the make-up artist if we could use her ring light and I was able to capture some stunning yet informal portraits of Kat.
